Our story

John and Cass followed the call of the country and authentic distilling in 2015. Since then, Laceys Hill has been the heartland of their craft and community.

When they moved from Brisbane to Laceys Hill, they made their home in a 30-year-old, self-built pole house. Today this same property now holds a small distillery, their two dog-babies—Pepper and Molly—and their hearts.

John’s passion for small-batch, from-scratch spirits began in 2013 when he learned the process with his Uncle Tom in Booroobin, near Maleny.

The dream sparked alive, and the pull to the country became real. Only a couple of years later, after John and Cass met, the two began bringing the dream to life. Now, Laceys Hill spirits sit proudly upon the shelves of local bottle shops and bars, from the Moreton Bay Region to Brisbane city (and maybe a little beyond, too).
